Build Bathrooms for Children in Bangladesh

Donate To This Campaign
Seventeen communities in Bangladesh desperately need bathrooms. Will you help local churches bring dignity to these families?

When was the last time you walked into a church bathroom and thought, “Thank goodness this place has running water.” You’re probably used to it, right?

But most children in rural southern Bangladesh have never flushed a toilet. Without bathrooms or even latrines, many in their communities relieve themselves in open fields.

The consequences can be severe. Diseases enter the water supply and spread from family to family.

Many of these children belong to ethnic minorities at the bottom of the economic and social strata. They don’t have the resources to get medical care for constant episodes of dysentery, cholera and worse. This can lead to stunted growth, slower cognitive development and even death.

But Compassion wants to bring dignity and health to these children and their communities.

Seventeen of our church partners are seeking to install fully functioning and hygienic toilets on-site.

That means facilities featuring:

  • Eight private stalls.
  • Four sinks for handwashing.
  • Different bathrooms for boys and girls.

In total, this will cost $122,706.76, and these bathrooms will serve 2,602 children. That means we need 600 donors to each give $205 to meet our goal.

Will you donate and give these young people working bathrooms that will protect their health and dignity for the first time in their lives?

We’re hoping to fund this project by April 30.
