Recently, our church partners in Uganda let us know about an urgent need to build homes for eight families affected by a natural disaster.

When heavy storms hit the Mbale region of Uganda, flash floods and high winds destroyed or damaged the homes of several participants in Compassion’s program. In the Bushikori community, two families’ homes collapsed and are now being propped up by poles. Two other homes are filling with water that continues to ooze from underground, and 11 homes have dangerous cracks in the walls and roofs.

Our church partners in Bushikori are eager to help these families rebuild their lives after the disaster, but they don’t yet have the resources to do so. Once fully funded, this project will enable the churches to hire contractors, buy building materials and reconstruct sturdy, safe structures for the families. After the structures are built, the churches will educate the families on keeping them clean and safe.

Would you donate toward this important opportunity for families in need?

Gifts shown here illustrate goods and services used in Compassion’s holistic child development program. All contributions designated for specific funds will be applied to those projects and to administering the gifts. We desire to be good stewards of your gift, and when we receive more contributions for a given fund than we can use, we apply those funds to meet similar pressing needs.
