Restore Dignity Through Proper Sanitation in Thailand

Donate To This Campaign
Provide 85 impoverished families in rural Thailand with safe, private bathroom facilities right in their homes.

In the remote mountain villages of northern Thailand, thousands of families face a grim reality — they lack access to basic sanitation. Many migrants fleeing conflict in Myanmar end up in these rural borderlands, struggling to afford even makeshift toilet solutions.

The sanitation crisis hits close to home for these 85 families with children enrolled at nine Compassion child development centers. Without proper bathrooms in their houses, they’re forced to use ramshackle outhouses constructed from scrap materials like bamboo, plastic and cardboard.

These inadequate facilities provide no privacy, security or dignity. They also put impoverished families at risk of waterborne diseases and other health issues.

But you can help restore dignity and safety by providing household bathrooms for these families. With your support, Compassion will construct 85 new bathrooms right at the homes of struggling families. Each one will include:

  • A proper toilet.
  • A handwashing station.
  • Privacy and safety for the family.

Local teams will also train families in how to prevent illness and maintain their new bathrooms.

The total cost for this holistic sanitation solution is $72,260. We can reach our fundraising goal if 290 people donate just $250 each.

Give today and unlock the extraordinary impact of household bathrooms — protecting health, providing privacy and restoring dignity for families in desperate poverty in rural Thailand.
